When it comes to homemade baked goods recipes, Grandma's are the best. You'll enjoy making deliciously old fashioned cupcakes, muffins, brownies, dessert squares, donuts, and more, all from scratch. The baked treats you'll find below are sure to remind you of those happy days gone by.  Do take a peek.

Memories of Home Baking

One of my fondest memories from childhood is the smell of fresh baked goods on Monday mornings when Mom fired up the kitchen wood stove and began her weekly baking. Nowadays, realtors sometimes heat a pie in the oven before hosting an open house. They know the aroma of baking comforts people and will make the house feel homey.

Baked treats weren't only for an after-dinner dessert in those days. Scones, squares, donuts, and sweet breads offered a convenient snack any time of the day, and after the evening farm chores were done. Pancakes or waffles were often served at breakfast with maple syrup, or honey from our own bees.

In the midst of our hectic lifestyle, it feels warm and comforting to return to old fashioned, easy recipes and create treats that are simple, delicious, and can satisfy our taste buds.

Egg Safety Tip
