Smooth Fruit Chocolate Cake

I once tasted a fruitcake which tasted of fruit, but I could see no fruits in it; it also had a strong flavour of chocolate, was moist, and melted in your mouth. I was told it was a West Indian cake recipe but lost contact with the person who sold me the cake. Can anyone tell me what this cake recipe is, where it came from, and how to get a fruit chocolate cake which tastes of fruit but you cannot see the chunks of fruit?
