Senator McCarthy's Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

by Peggy
(Plymouth, Ma., USA.)

My Mother-in-law during her married life made a cake every day. Most of the time it was chocolate. She made the most delicious sour cream chocolate cake I have ever had, and she called it "Senator McCarthy's sour cream chocolate cake."

She passed away many years ago, and while I had her recipe in my little recipe box, somehow I cannot find it. I think I was recopying all of my old recipes and after a glass or two of red wine, somehow I goofed and must have thrown it away by mistake.

My grandchildren would love to have this recipe, as I used to make it often for them, just as my Mother-in-law made it for me.

If anyone can help, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks!
