Lost Recipes

Find Great Recipes With My Recipe Finder

Find lost recipes. Perhaps you can recall a wonderful dessert dish that your mother or grandmother once made, and you would like to enjoy it again, but you've been unable to find the recipe.

Now, you can again enjoy that delicious dessert and relive the memory simply by submitting your recipe request here.

I can help you find lost recipes by sharing your request with hundreds of my site visitors from around the world.

But first, you will need to do two things:

1. Use Recipe Search to see whether the recipe you are requesting is already published elsewhere on this website.

2. Look at the Dessert Recipe Requests made by other site visitors. Someone might have requested the very dessert recipe you are searching for, and perhaps it is already published below.

While you are looking, if it turns out that you have a recipe someone else wants, please submit it in a comment, and the person who made the request will be notified.

Still can't find it?...

Welcome To My Lost Recipe Finder

Share your request for a dessert recipe in the Recipe Finder below. Another visitor might have the exact recipe you want. Only submit ONE request at a time, though. You are welcome to return later and submit additional requests, but they must be for vintage dessert dishes only.

Here's A Few Guidelines To Follow

The more information you can give about the dessert, the more chance that someone will respond. A request needs to contain enough information to help someone identify the recipe and make them interested enough to respond to you.

Offer more than just, "need old chocolate cookie recipe" if you want your request published. After all, you can't expect someone to spend valuable time responding to you when you won't take the time to write a friendly request. Over-brief requests won't be published!

Just pretend you are writing a friendly letter. Perhaps tell a little about the dessert, who made it, a fond memory associated with it, why you would like a copy of the recipe, and so on.

You are actually creating your own Web page where you can receive visitors' comments and give your responses, so make your page polite, friendly, and attractive to the reader.

Please Note: Submission/Comment must be your own words. We can NOT accept copyrighted recipes taken from published sources or from another Web site. Also, Submissions/Comments containing links and/or promotions will be refused.

Finally, when someone responds with the recipe, please remember to comment back and thank them. It's the polite thing to do.

Now, let's build your web page.

Here's How

1. Enter a suitable Web page title (the dessert name). This will help people to find your page when they search for it.

2. Share your old-time recipe request (up to 10,000 characters). It's your page to share what you want, but add enough information to make someone want to reply to your request.

3. Upload an interesting photo and be sure to "Add Picture Caption" giving it a name or description.

Click the question marks below for additional help.
