Candy Pear Recipe

Ghosts On A Stick: No Bake Halloween Treat Recipe For Chocolate Coated Pears

Candy pear on a stick, known as Ghost on a stick This easy candy pear recipe makes delicious chocolate coated pears on a stick. A chocolate pear recipe might seem be one of the more unusual Halloween treat recipes, but the taste of ripened pears dipped in melted white almond bark is a sure crowd pleaser.

These treats are simply irresistible, both for appearance and taste. You can substitute plain white chocolate without the nuts if you prefer a nut free Halloween treat for kids, and they will taste just as good.

Kids love the spooky white appearance of the decorated white-chocolate pears calling them "Ghosts On a Stick," and they make a great alternative to the traditional candy apple recipes that are commonly seen. By offering a candy pear instead of a candy apple, you might be starting a brand-new Halloween tradition at your house.

Chocolate Dipped Candy Pear Recipe

This candy apple recipe alternative is adapted from an old recipe.

Ingredients:

10 to 12 squares of white almond bark (2-ounce squares)
(Or, 10 to 12 2-ounce squares white chocolate)
6 ripe, medium-sized pears
Handful of mini chocolate chips for decoration
6 Popsicle sticks, or wooden meat skewers
Halloween-style cupcake papers

Directions:

It turns out that pears are just the right shape for making tasty treats for Halloween -- spooky ghosts on a stick!

Line a cookie sheet or a large cake pan with waxed paper. Place the cupcake papers on the sheet so they are not touching. Melt almond bark (or white chocolate) in a small saucepan over boiling water while stirring, or follow package directions. Poke craft sticks or skewers firmly into the pears at their stem end. Dip each pear into the melted chocolate, draw out quickly and twirl it until the chocolate is spread evenly over the pear. You can use a spoon to help evenly coat the entire pear.

Place each chocolate-dipped pear in a cupcake paper (optional), standing up as much as possible. Place mini chocolate chips for face decoration. You can use any leftover chocolate to spoon ghost tails into the paper cups, providing there's room. Place in fridge to cool until ready to eat. Delicious!

Wild rose and old time candy cookbook The chocolate coated candy pear recipe is quick and easy to make, and your family will love the delicious chocolatey taste of these unusual Halloween treats. It makes a great candy apple recipe alternative too.
