Ghosts On A Stick: A No-Bake Halloween Treat Recipe For Chocolate Coated Pears
A candy pear on a stick as a Halloween treat? It's a great alternative to the traditional candy apple recipe for Halloween.
This chocolate-coated pear recipe may be one of the more unusual Halloween treat recipes, but the taste of ripe pears dipped in melted white almond bark is a sure crowd pleaser.
You can substitute plain white chocolate if you prefer a nut-free treat, and they'll taste just as good.
Kids love the spooky white appearance of the decorated white-chocolate pears, and by offering a "candy pear" instead of a candy apple, you might be starting a new Halloween tradition at your house.
Chocolate Dipped Pear RecipeThis candy apple recipe alternative is adapted from an old recipe taken from a newspaper clipping.
10 to 12 squares of white almond bark (2-ounce squares) (Or, 10 to 12 2-ounce squares white chocolate) 6 ripe, medium-sized pears Handful of mini chocolate chips for decoration 6 Popsicle sticks, or wooden meat skewers Halloween-style cupcake papers
It turns out that pears are just the right shape for making tasty treats for Halloween -- spooky ghosts on a stick!
Line a cookie sheet or a large cake pan with waxed paper. Place the cupcake papers on the sheet so they are not touching. Melt almond bark (or chocolate) in a small saucepan over boiling water while stirring, or follow package directions. Poke craft sticks or skewers firmly into the pears at their stem end. Dip each pear into the melted chocolate, draw out quickly and twirl it until the chocolate is spread evenly over the pear. You can use a spoon to help evenly coat the entire pear.
Place each chocolate-dipped pear in a cupcake paper, standing up as much as possible. Place mini chocolate chips for face decoration. You can use any leftover chocolate to spoon ghost tails into the paper cups, providing there's room. Place in fridge to cool until ready to eat. Delicious!
The chocolate-coated candy pear recipe is quick and easy to make, and your family will love the delicious chocolatey taste of these unusual Halloween treats. Give this candy apple recipe alternative a try.
