Canascione

by Linda St. Laurent
(Michigan, USA)

I am looking for a canascione recipe. This is a small half-moon Italian pastry. The crust is made up of flour, milk, oil, and eggs. The filling is grated cheese (what kind I'm not sure) Ricotta, white pepper, and eggs. It is not very sweet, but excellent with wine. I think the cheese is something like Romano sharp not mild. It is baked.

Does anyone have the recipe for canascione?
