Easy Dessert Recipes Ezine -- 024 July 24, 2007 |
Edited Archival Version WelcomeHi Everybody,Wow. I find it hard to believe that we are now nearing the end of July. Where's the time going? We are having wonderful summer weather here in the Kawarthas, but it is a little warmer than we'd like at times. I don't know about you, but when it's humid and above 30°C, I tend to slow right down to a crawl. This month's newsletter is arriving later than I'd planned. We're in the midst of remodeling our kitchen to add more counter space, and I've fallen way behind in my schedule. Hopefully, the new design will make it easier for us to test Grandma's recipes. Also, I am announcing several new recipe pages added to my website that feature old-time soft drink recipes. These recipes are perfect for the summer, or anytime. The authentic sodas and fruit beverages were once served at old-time soda fountains, and they taste deliciously refreshing. Somehow, the old-time beverage category got neglected, so I will be adding even more recipes to it in the coming days, plus some new ice cream recipes. Keep watching. Thank you for visiting my site. Till next month, Don Website UpdatesWelcome to this month's updates:Lime Rickey RecipesLime Rickeys are one of the most refreshing beverages around, and these vintage lime ricky recipes are sure to please. Enjoy the same lime rickeys that Grandma once enjoyed.Click here to visit the Lime Rickey Recipes page. Cream Soda RecipesHave you ever drank a tall, frothy cream soda like the ones they once served at the old-time soda fountains? If not, then you're in for a treat. Now, with these old-time cream soda recipes, you can make the genuine article at home.Click here to visit the Cream Soda Recipes page. Old-Time Float RecipesNowadays when we think of drinking a "float," we usually think of an ice cream float. In the days of the pharmacy soda fountain, however, floats were citrus fruit drinks with a layer of either rich cream, whipped cream, or grape juice floated on top. Floats are especially delicious and very refreshing. You must try them.Click here to visit the old-time Float Recipes page. Vintage Fizz RecipesFizzes are an old-time drink similar to effervescent sodas. They are fruit flavored and served when the effervescing is at its strongest. They are very refreshing and go down well after a big meal.Click here to visit the vintage Fizz Recipes page. And More New Pages To ComeSee the next edition for more new recipe pages.Old Fashioned RecipeThis month features one of my favorite desserts. Mom often made lemon fluff pudding in the summertime.
